The Australian Women’s and Gender Studies Association (AWGSA) is the peak body representing researchers, academics and students of Women’s Studies and Gender Studies in Australia. AWGSA administers a PhD Award, runs a biennial conference and other events, lobbies government agencies, supports feminist campaigns and activities, and has an email discussion list for its members. Its objectives are:
- To promote the teaching, study, and research of women’s and gender studies in Australia.
- To be a national voice on women’s and gender studies issues.
- To promote links with other international feminist organisations and associations.
